Raj Kapoor was such a multi-faceted personality, who, apart from acting, worked as a filmmaker and had many great experiences on the film screen. These experiences of his earned him the title of 'Show Man' in Bollywood. His full name was Ranbir Raj Kapoor. He was born on 14 December 1924 in Peshawar  to father Prithvi Raj Kapoor and mother Ram Sarni Kapoor . His younger brothers Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor also achieved a different position in the field of acting. He got married to Krishna Kumari. Three sons Rajiv Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and two daughters Ritu Nanda and Reema Kapoor were born in their house. 

Raj Kapoor took his first step in the film world as a child actor at the age of 11 with director Devki Bose's film 'Inqlab'. After this, he played important roles as a child actor in about 12 films. By the way, his father Prithviraj Kapoor was not sure that he would succeed in films. However, in 1947, he made a grand entry into Bollywood as a hero with Madhubala in the film 'Neel Kamal' directed by Kedar Nath Sharma. Later, his father Prithviraj Kapoor was forced to say that my son Raj Kapoor, even if he is not educated, will definitely get a place in the film world, a day will come when people will call Raj Kapoor not Prithviraj Kapoor's son but Prithviraj Kapoor will be known as the father of Raj Kapoor.
