After receiving the news that four bombs have been kept somewhere near Sri Harmandir Sahib, the police has alerted the entire state at 1.30 am. Ten bomb disposal squads immediately reached from the police line to check the areas around Sri Harmandir Sahib. A house-to-house search was conducted till 4 am but no bomb was found. On the other hand, the cyber team of the police was tracing the mobile number, which informed the police control room.

At five o'clock in the morning, the police detained four minors including one Nihang. It has been learned that the accused had given this message to the police control room with the intention of doing mischief, but the team sitting at the control room called the accused back several times but he did not pick up. The team informed CP Naunihal Singh while taking immediate action. After some time, ten bomb disposal teams left for Sri Harmandir Sahib from the police line. However, by then a red alert had been issued in the whole of Punjab.
