A difference of half has been seen in the demand for electricity. Last week, the demand for electricity reached 12 thousand, which has been recorded up to 6 thousand megawatts on Thursday. With reduced demand, there has also been a reduction in power cuts, which is a big relief for Powercom and consumers. 

Due to reduced demand for electricity, four units of two thermals of the government sector are closed, while all the units of three thermals of the private sector have been run at half capacity and electricity has been generated. From the government, three out of four units of Ropar plant are closed and one unit is 159 MW, out of four units of Lehra Mohbat, unit number two is closed since last year due to technical fault and unit number three is closed due to reduced power demand and two units 341 MW electricity was generated from Similarly, both the units of private sector Rajpura plant have produced 734 MW at half capacity, 937 MW from all three units of Talwandi Sabo at half capacity and 299 MW from Talwandi Sabo.
